So you bought a print, now what? Framing

So you bought a print. Congratulations! But now what? There is nothing as lacklustre as keeping it in the protective film to gather dust somewhere. Luckily I have some great economical tips for framing.

I prefer to shop at Opus Art Supplies as they have many great ready to use frames. It requires a little DIY but not to worry, it’s easy! The frame I suggest is the Cypress Frame. It is modern and chic and comes in three different shades, black, light tan and a medium shade. What’s great about these frames is they are of high quality and are only $80 for the size you will need. They are metal with a coat that looks like wood and they come with a framing mat inside. The size you will need for your 11” x 14 “ print will be 16” x 20”. The window in the mat is 11” x 14”. This leaves you with professional quality art on your walls!

For the record I am not an affiliate of Opus, just a happy customer.

Affordable Art Prints

Prints. I love to create affordable art to bring some joy to peoples homes. This has become even more important for people since the pandemic. Art brings curiosity and warmth to a home so I produce open edition prints, 11” x 14”, locally printed on Canadian paper for $65. They are of the highest quality and I price them as low as I can.

You can purchase them on my Paper Print Shop. If you can pick up locally go through the purchase process and if you do not see the local pick up option I will refund the shipping. Easy peasy!

Join the Collectors List for New Work

I have some new things I’m working on but at this point it is percolating ideas. My time has been consumed with commissions which I love doing but my available work has been almost non existent as they are usually spoken for by the time they are finished.

So, it is my goal to create some pieces to be available on my site. This takes time to plan and execute so it may be a few months until I have it realized. I’m very excited about pushing my work further and exploring new subjects.

If you would like first access to any new paintings, sign up for my Collectors List here.

Below is my most recent commission, Ferrous 4, 3’ x 4’ acrylic on canvas.

This landscape is from the Dallas Road balustrade which had now been torn down. I feel like I was capturing the personality of the seawall in its last days. Victoria BC.

Going Forward

Hi, my name is Rose and I am a painter on Vancouver Island. Welcome to my website! You can follow me on Instagram for the up to date news on what I’m working on. Click here to follow. Like most, I am laying low and staying home as much as possible during this pandemic. I have several more commissions on my list and after I complete those I will be looking back and reassess where my work is going. We all love the old seawall that was on Dallas Road but there is so much more to paint! I will be pursuing new works and new ways of painting as I need to shake thinks up every few years. I am very much looking forward to working in oils again.

So welcome and thank you for reading! If you would like to be first to know about new releases sign up for my newsletter. I never spam and send messages less than once a month.
